Welcome! Here are suggestions on how to
use December's Bore Da further in the classroom.

December's themes are your area, the town,
travel, Dwynwen, Happy New Year and
the seasons.

Divide the class into teams.  Give them five minutes to study Bore Da's cover, then collect the copies.
Read the following questions to the pupils and they should write the answers.

1. What colour is the word 'bore'?

2. What price is Bore Da?

3. What colour is Harry's bow tie?

4. Who is with Harry?

5. Which season is depicted in the picture on the cover?

6. What colour is the snowman's hat?

7. What is the snowman's nose?

8. What colour is the pillow?

Make photocopies of the cartoon using liquid paper to cover the text, and give each group a copy.  Write the text, not in the correct order, on the black/ whiteboard.  The groups should decide which text goes with which picture.

After completing the worksheet the children can draw a picture of their new year resolution and write My new year resolution is… under the picture. 

Tudalen 6 7 Annwyl Celt y Ceiliog  Choose some of the sentences the children use in the letters.   Write the sentences (or cut them out) and cut them up into individual words.  Put the words for each sentence in an envelope and give each group an envelop. The pupils should re-build the sentences putting the words in the correct order.  Remind them to use any clues in the punctuation.  

Tudalen 8 9 Poster Y Tymhorau  Give the pupils the following words.  They should decide which picture each word refers to - spring, summer, autumn or winter.

After completing the worksheet and practising giving directions, put the names of various rooms and places in the school in a big envelope.  Ask two pupils to come to the front and choose a name each from the envelope.  They should explain to the rest of the class where they are, and give directions to the second place, and the rest of the class should guess where they are going.
